Steps
- Wash the Chinese chives thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or grit, then trim the ends and cut them into 5 cm pieces.
- In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, vegetable oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Place the chopped chives in a steamer basket and pour the marinade over them, tossing gently to coat.
- Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a pot or wok, then place the steamer basket over the boiling water.
- Cover and steam the chives for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until they are tender but still vibrant green.
