Ingredients

  • Chinese broccoli - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 0.5 liters
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse the Chinese broccoli under cold water and trim off the tough ends of the stems.
  2. In a large pot, bring 0.5 liters of water to a boil.
  3. Place a steamer basket over the boiling water and add the Chinese broccoli to the basket.
  4. Cover the pot and steam the broccoli for about 5-7 minutes, or until it turns bright green and is tender yet still crisp.
  5. While the broccoli is steaming, heat the sesame oil in a small pan over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  6. Once the broccoli is steamed, remove it from the steamer and place it on a serving plate.
  7. Drizzle the sautéed garlic and sesame oil over the steamed broccoli, and sprinkle with soy sauce and salt to taste.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy side dish.
