Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams
  • Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 500 ml

Steps

  1. Prepare the chicken by cutting it into bite-sized pieces and marinating it in soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the chicken is marinating, clean the shiitake mushrooms and slice them thinly.
  3. In a steamer basket lined with parchment paper, arrange the marinated chicken evenly and top it with the sliced mushrooms and chopped spring onions.
  4. Bring water to a boil in a pot and place the steamer basket over it, ensuring the water does not touch the chicken.
  5. Cover the pot and steam the chicken and mushrooms for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 75°C.
  6. Once done, remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes before serving.
