- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 500 ml
Steps
- Prepare the chicken by cutting it into bite-sized pieces and marinating it in soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper for at least 15 minutes.
- While the chicken is marinating, clean the shiitake mushrooms and slice them thinly.
- In a steamer basket lined with parchment paper, arrange the marinated chicken evenly and top it with the sliced mushrooms and chopped spring onions.
- Bring water to a boil in a pot and place the steamer basket over it, ensuring the water does not touch the chicken.
- Cover the pot and steam the chicken and mushrooms for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 75°C.
- Once done, remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes before serving.
