Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Granulated sugar - 10 grams
- Warm water - 120 milliliters
- Pork shoulder, minced - 150 grams
- Soy sauce - 15 milliliters
- Sesame oil - 5 milliliters
- Ginger, minced - 5 grams
- Garlic, minced - 5 grams
- Green onions, finely chopped - 10 grams
- Salt - 2 grams
- White pepper - 1 gram
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and a pinch of salt. Slowly add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- In a separate bowl, mix the minced pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions, salt, and white pepper until well combined.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten it into a disk.
- Place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each disk, then gather the edges and pinch them together to seal the bun.
- Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a boil. Place the buns on a parchment-lined steamer basket, leaving space for them to expand.
- Steam the buns for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are fluffy and cooked through.
- Serve warm and enjoy your delicious steamed buns with pork!
