Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Granulated sugar - 10 grams
  • Warm water - 120 milliliters
  • Pork shoulder, minced - 150 grams
  • Soy sauce - 15 milliliters
  • Sesame oil - 5 milliliters
  • Ginger, minced - 5 grams
  • Garlic, minced - 5 grams
  • Green onions, finely chopped - 10 grams
  • Salt - 2 grams
  • White pepper - 1 gram

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and a pinch of salt. Slowly add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the minced pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions, salt, and white pepper until well combined.
  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten it into a disk.
  6. Place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each disk, then gather the edges and pinch them together to seal the bun.
  7. Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a boil. Place the buns on a parchment-lined steamer basket, leaving space for them to expand.
  8. Steam the buns for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are fluffy and cooked through.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious steamed buns with pork!
