Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Warm water - 100 ml
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Salt - 2 grams
- Vegetable oil - 10 ml
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and vegetable oil.
- Mix the ingredients until a dough starts to form, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball or flatten it slightly.
- Set up a steamer and line the steamer basket with parchment paper. Place the buns in the basket, leaving space for them to expand.
- Steam the buns over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes until they are fluffy and cooked through.
- Remove from the steamer and allow to cool slightly before serving.
