Ingredients

  • Wonton wrappers - 20 pieces
  • Lean ground chicken or turkey - 150 grams
  • Finely chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
  • Minced garlic - 1 clove
  • Grated ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped spinach - 50 grams
  • Water - for sealing the wontons
  • Low-sodium chicken broth - 500 ml

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken or turkey, green onions, garlic, ginger, chili paste, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped spinach. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and add about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to create a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Bring the chicken broth to a gentle simmer in a pot over medium heat. Add the wontons carefully and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the top and are cooked through.
  4. Using a slotted spoon, remove the wontons from the broth and serve them hot. Optionally, drizzle with extra chili paste or sprinkle with additional green onions for added flavor.
