Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch, grated
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Press the tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil, garlic, and ginger, and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced red and green bell peppers to the skillet and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until they are slightly softened but still crisp.
- Stir in the cooked tofu, soy sauce, chili paste, and sesame oil. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
