Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Cabbage (shredded) - 100 grams
  • Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Avocado - 1 small
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for taco shells)
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess water, then cut into small cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, chili flakes, soy sauce, and lime juice.
  3. Add the cubed tofu to the marinade and let it sit for at least 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated tofu. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tofu is golden and crispy.
  5. While the tofu is cooking, prepare the toppings by shredding the cabbage, chopping the cilantro, and slicing the avocado.
  6. Once the tofu is ready, assemble the tacos by placing a few pieces of crispy tofu in the center of each lettuce leaf.
  7. Top with shredded cabbage, cilantro, and slices of avocado. Season with salt if desired.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your Spicy Tofu Tacos!
