Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons

  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sriracha sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/4 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. Drain the firm tofu and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture for about 10 minutes.
  2. Crumble the tofu into bite-sized pieces using your hands or a fork.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the diced red bell pepper and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
  6. Add the crumbled tofu to the skillet, along with the soy sauce, Sriracha, cayenne pepper, turmeric, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tofu is heated through and slightly golden.
  8. Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro before serving.
