Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sriracha sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Red bell pepper, diced - 1/2 medium
  • Carrot, grated - 1 medium
  • Frozen puff pastry - 1 sheet (approx. 250 grams)
  • Egg (beaten, for egg wash) - 1 large
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cilantro, chopped - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Drain the tofu and press it to remove excess moisture, then crumble it into a bowl.
  3. Add soy sauce, sriracha, grated ginger, minced garlic, black pepper, and sesame oil to the crumbled tofu. Mix well.
  4. Stir in the chopped green onions, diced red bell pepper, grated carrot, and chopped cilantro until combined.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit a small pie dish.
  6. Place half of the puff pastry in the pie dish, pressing it against the sides and bottom.
  7. Spoon the tofu mixture into the pastry-lined pie dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Cover with the remaining puff pastry, sealing the edges by pressing them together. Cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  9. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
