Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Fresh spinach - 200 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (adjust for spice level)
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the cubed tofu with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Turn occasionally for even browning.
- While the tofu is frying, in a separate pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the fresh spinach to the pan with garlic and ginger, and stir until wilted, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Once the tofu is cooked, add it to the spinach mixture. Drizzle with soy sauce and sprinkle with red chili flakes. Stir gently to combine all ingredients and heat through for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve hot.
