Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
  • Coconut flour - 60 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (finely chopped) - 2 stalks
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Coconut aminos - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Avocado oil (for frying) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp, garlic, ginger, green onions, red chili flakes, coconut aminos, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the coconut flour and egg together until a dough forms. If too dry, add a teaspoon of water until a pliable dough is achieved.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls (about 12-14) and flatten each ball into a thin disc, roughly 8-10 cm in diameter.
  4. Place a spoonful of the shrimp mixture in the center of each disc. Fold the edges over to create a wonton shape, pinching to seal tightly.
  5. Heat the avocado oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the wontons in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  6. Fry the wontons for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and cooked through. Add a splash of water to the pan and cover to steam for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Remove the wontons from the pan and serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
