- Water - 500 ml
- Dried shiitake mushrooms - 2 pieces
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 thumb-sized piece, sliced
- Red chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce (Halal) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Prawns (peeled and deveined) - 150 grams
- Squid (sliced) - 100 grams
- Fish fillet (white fish, Halal) - 100 grams
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Cilantro - a handful, chopped
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a pot, bring 500 ml of water to a boil and add the dried shiitake mushrooms. Let them soak for about 10 minutes until softened, then remove and slice them.
- In the same pot, add minced garlic, sliced ginger, and red chili paste. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the soy sauce, fish sauce, and sesame oil, then add the sliced shiitake mushrooms back into the pot.
- Add the prawns, squid, and fish fillet to the pot. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and tender.
- Season the soup with salt and black pepper to taste. Squeeze in the lime juice and stir well.
- Serve the soup hot, garnished with chopped green onions and cilantro.
