Ingredients
- Lamb chops - 4 pieces (about 500g)
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Shaoxing wine - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Scallions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, minced garlic, minced ginger, chili paste, five-spice powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper, brown sugar, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
- Add the lamb chops to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
- Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the lamb chops from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Place the lamb chops on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
- Once cooked, remove the lamb chops from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds before serving.
