  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Scallions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, minced garlic, minced ginger, chili paste, five-spice powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper, brown sugar, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
  2. Add the lamb chops to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the lamb chops from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Place the lamb chops on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
  6. Once cooked, remove the lamb chops from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds before serving.
