- Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Bao buns - 2 pieces
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Spicy mayo - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, minced garlic, grated ginger, crushed Szechuan peppercorns, chili paste, soy sauce, chopped green onions, cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the lamb patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- While the patties are cooking, steam the bao buns according to package instructions until soft and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bao bun, followed by the cooked lamb patty, sliced cucumber, and a drizzle of spicy mayo.
- Top with the other half of the bao bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your spicy lamb burger!
