Ingredients
- Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 300 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Honey - 1 teaspoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cilantro (for garnish) - a handful
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, honey, lime juice, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 10 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each shrimp.
- Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque, being careful not to overcook.
- Remove from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro for garnish. Serve immediately.
