Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 300 grams
  • Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cilantro (for garnish) - a handful

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, honey, lime juice, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
  2. Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 10 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each shrimp.
  5. Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque, being careful not to overcook.
  6. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro for garnish. Serve immediately.
