Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons (or tamari for gluten-free)
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and sauté until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and sesame oil. Sauté the minced garlic and grated ginger for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the red chili flakes, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet, tossing to coat in the spicy garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
