Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 250 grams
- Coconut aminos - 3 tablespoons
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- Press the firm tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Wrap the tofu in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top.
- Once pressed, cut the tofu into thin slices, approximately 0.5 cm thick.
- In a mixing bowl, combine coconut aminos, chili powder, garlic powder, ground ginger, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, sea salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the sliced tofu to the bowl and gently toss to coat each piece evenly with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 120°C (250°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the marinated tofu slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, flipping the tofu slices halfway through, until they become dry and crispy.
- Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
