Ingredients

  • Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped for garnish
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin sauce, chili paste, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken thighs from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
  5. Place the chicken thighs on the grill and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked and have a nice char.
  6. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
