- Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
- Rice noodles - 150 grams
- Beef broth - 500 milliliters
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges
Steps
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Add the sliced beef to the pot and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Stir in the soy sauce and chili paste, mixing well to coat the beef. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- While the broth is simmering, cook the rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Once the broth has simmered, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Add the cooked noodles to the pot and mix gently.
- Serve the soup in bowls, garnishing with chopped green onions and cilantro. Drizzle with sesame oil and serve with lime wedges on the side.
