Ingredients
- Beef flank steak - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Worcestershire sauce - 30 ml
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Szechuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
Steps
- Slice the beef flank steak into thin strips, approximately 0.5 cm thick.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, Szechuan peppercorns, red chili flakes, garlic powder, ginger powder, black pepper, and salt to create a marinade.
- Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for better flavor absorption.
- Preheat your oven to 70°C (160°F) or use a dehydrator set at a low temperature.
- Arrange the marinated beef strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and dry the beef for about 3-4 hours, or until the jerky has a firm yet slightly pliable texture.
- Once dried, remove the jerky from the oven and let it cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
