Ingredients

  • Beef flank steak - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Worcestershire sauce - 30 ml
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Szechuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • Salt - ½ teaspoon

Steps

  1. Slice the beef flank steak into thin strips, approximately 0.5 cm thick.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, Szechuan peppercorns, red chili flakes, garlic powder, ginger powder, black pepper, and salt to create a marinade.
  3. Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for better flavor absorption.
  4. Preheat your oven to 70°C (160°F) or use a dehydrator set at a low temperature.
  5. Arrange the marinated beef strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the oven and dry the beef for about 3-4 hours, or until the jerky has a firm yet slightly pliable texture.
  7. Once dried, remove the jerky from the oven and let it cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
