- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Szechuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon, crushed
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2
- Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
- Cilantro - a handful, for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with soy sauce, crushed Szechuan peppercorns, minced garlic, grated ginger, chili paste, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Divide the beef mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are well browned and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in a separate pan until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing each beef patty on the bottom half of the bun. Top with sliced cucumber and chopped green onions.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and cover with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
