Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300g
  • Coconut aminos - 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Arrowroot powder - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine coconut aminos, garlic powder, ground ginger, five-spice powder, and cayenne pepper. Add the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat evenly.
  3. Let the tofu marinate for 10 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle arrowroot powder over the marinated tofu and toss until all pieces are lightly coated.
  5. Heat sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and fry for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro before serving.
