- Firm tofu - 300g
- Coconut aminos - 3 tablespoons
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Arrowroot powder - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- Press the firm tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut into bite-sized cubes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine coconut aminos, garlic powder, ground ginger, five-spice powder, and cayenne pepper. Add the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat evenly.
- Let the tofu marinate for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle arrowroot powder over the marinated tofu and toss until all pieces are lightly coated.
- Heat sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and fry for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro before serving.
