  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground star anise - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ground ginger - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Using a sharp knife, make a shallow 'X' cut on the flat side of each chestnut to prevent them from bursting while roasting.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the chestnuts with olive oil, sea salt, ground cinnamon, ground star anise, ground ginger, and chili powder (if using) until well coated.
