Ingredients
- Dried soybeans - 100 grams
- Water - 1 liter
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sweetener (optional, e.g., maple syrup or agave) - to taste
Steps
- Rinse the dried soybeans under cold water and soak them in a bowl with enough water to cover them for at least 8 hours or overnight.
- After soaking, drain and rinse the soybeans again. Place them in a blender with 1 liter of fresh water and blend until smooth.
- Strain the blended mixture through a nut milk bag or a fine mesh sieve into a large pot, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining soybean pulp or save it for other recipes.
- Heat the strained soy milk over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent scalding. Bring it to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
- Add salt and sweetener to taste, stirring well to combine. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
