  • Squid - 100 grams, cleaned and sliced
  • Fish fillet (white fish) - 150 grams, cut into chunks
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried red chili peppers - 2, whole
  • Chicken broth - 500 milliliters
  • Soy sauce (halal) - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, minced ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, and dried red chili peppers. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp, squid, and fish fillet to the pot. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and tender.
  4. Taste the soup and adjust with salt and black pepper as needed.
  5. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro. Serve hot.
