Ingredients

  • Wonton wrappers - 20 pieces
  • Ground pork - 200 grams
  • Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
  • Minced garlic - 1 teaspoon
  • Minced ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Chicken broth - 200 milliliters
  • Chopped cilantro - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until the mixture is sticky.
  2. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and add about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Fold the two corners of the triangle towards the center to form a wonton shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. In a pot, bring chicken broth to a gentle simmer. Carefully drop the wontons into the broth and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  4. While the wontons are cooking, prepare the spicy sauce by combining chili oil, Sichuan peppercorns, and chopped cilantro in a small bowl.
  5. Once the wontons are cooked, use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a serving plate. Drizzle the spicy sauce over the wontons and garnish with additional chopped cilantro if desired.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy your Sichuan Spicy Wontons!
