Ingredients
- Wonton wrappers - 20 pieces
- Ground pork - 200 grams
- Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
- Minced garlic - 1 teaspoon
- Minced ginger - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
- Chili oil - 2 tablespoons
- Chicken broth - 200 milliliters
- Chopped cilantro - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until the mixture is sticky.
- Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and add about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Fold the two corners of the triangle towards the center to form a wonton shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- In a pot, bring chicken broth to a gentle simmer. Carefully drop the wontons into the broth and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface.
- While the wontons are cooking, prepare the spicy sauce by combining chili oil, Sichuan peppercorns, and chopped cilantro in a small bowl.
- Once the wontons are cooked, use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a serving plate. Drizzle the spicy sauce over the wontons and garnish with additional chopped cilantro if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy your Sichuan Spicy Wontons!
