  • Minced chicken breast - 200 grams
  • Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Bell pepper - 1 small, diced
  • Green onions - 2, sliced
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and salt, letting it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Gradually mix in the flour and knead until a smooth dough forms, about 5-7 minutes. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  3. In a pan, heat chili oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic, ginger, and Sichuan peppercorns, sautéing until fragrant.
  4. Add minced chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in diced bell pepper, soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Roll out the dough into two 10-inch circles.
  6. Place one circle in the skillet, add half of the chicken mixture on top, and sprinkle with chopped cilantro. Cover with the second circle of dough.
  7. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Repeat for the second pie.
  8. Slice and serve hot, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
