Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 250 grams, sliced into thin strips
  • Broccoli - 200 grams, cut into florets
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 inch, minced
  • Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon, toasted and crushed
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Gluten-free soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken broth - 100 ml
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken with cornstarch and gluten-free soy sauce, mixing well. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic, ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, and red chili flakes. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the pan and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the pan, add the chicken broth and sesame oil, and stir everything together. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
