Ingredients

  • Ground chicken - 300 grams
  • Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro - a handful, chopped
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Sriracha sauce - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden crust.
  4. While the patties are cooking, mix the mayonnaise and Sriracha sauce in a small bowl to create a spicy mayo.
  5. To assemble the burgers, spread a layer of spicy mayo on the bottom half of each bun, place a chicken patty on top, and add slices of cucumber and chopped cilantro. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your Sichuan Spicy Burger!
