Ingredients

  • Raw peanuts - 200 grams
  • Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Spread the raw peanuts evenly on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through until they are golden brown.
  3. While the peanuts are roasting, heat the vegetable oil in a small pan over low heat and add the Sichuan peppercorns.
  4. Cook the peppercorns in the oil for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Once the peanuts are roasted, transfer them to a mixing bowl and add the salt, garlic powder, chili powder, sugar, and the infused oil with the Sichuan peppercorns.
  6. Toss everything together until the peanuts are evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve warm or at room temperature.
