Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Hoisin sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chili bean paste (Doubanjiang) - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic, minced - 3 cloves
- Ginger, grated - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Sichuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, chili bean paste, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and Sichuan peppercorns to create the marinade.
- Place the pork ribs in a large ziplock bag or dish, pour the marinade over them, and ensure they are well coated. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the ribs from the marinade and let any excess drip off.
- Grill the ribs for about 25-30 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and caramelized. Use the leftover marinade to baste the ribs during the last 10 minutes of grilling.
- Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
