- Green onion - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- In a food processor, combine the shrimp, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, green onion, beaten egg, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until a smooth paste forms.
- Spread the shrimp mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread, pressing down firmly to adhere.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the shrimp spread, pressing gently to ensure they stick.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat, enough to cover the bottom of the pan.
- Place the bread slices shrimp-side down in the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully flip the slices and fry the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Cut each slice into quarters and serve hot.
