Ingredients

  • Pork shoulder - 400 grams
  • Garlic - 6 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Coconut aminos - 4 tablespoons
  • Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, and half of the minced garlic and ginger.
  3. Place the seasoned pork in a baking dish and cover it with foil. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  4. While the pork is cooking, prepare the garlic sauce by heating olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the remaining garlic, ginger, and red chili flakes, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Once the pork is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Shred the pork with two forks.
  7. Combine the shredded pork with the garlic sauce, mixing well to coat the meat evenly.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
