- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Steamed bao buns - 2
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Hoisin sauce - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped spring onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, five-spice powder, sugar, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Shape the pork mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Once hot, cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, until they are fully cooked and have a nice golden-brown crust.
- While the patties are cooking, steam the bao buns according to package instructions, usually for about 5-10 minutes.
- Once the patties and buns are ready, assemble the burgers by placing each patty in a steamed bao bun, topping with sliced cucumbers and a drizzle of hoisin sauce.
