Ingredients

  • Ground pork - 250 grams
  • Green onions (scallions) - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
  • Cucumber - 50 grams, thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro - a handful, for garnish

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped scallions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce leaves by washing and drying them thoroughly. Place them on a serving plate.
  5. Once the patties are done, assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a lettuce leaf. Top with sliced cucumber and fresh cilantro.
  6. Wrap the lettuce around the patty and toppings like a burger, and serve immediately.
