Ingredients
- Fresh squid - 400 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Clean the squid by removing the head, innards, and the transparent cartilage. Rinse thoroughly under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chili flakes, honey, lemon juice, chopped green onions, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
- Cut the cleaned squid into rings or leave whole if preferred. Add the squid to the marinade and let it sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 10 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated squid onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the squid is opaque and slightly charred.
- Remove from the grill and serve hot, garnished with additional chopped green onions and a wedge of lemon if desired.
