Ingredients

  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Clean the squid by removing the head, innards, and the transparent cartilage. Rinse thoroughly under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chili flakes, honey, lemon juice, chopped green onions, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
  3. Cut the cleaned squid into rings or leave whole if preferred. Add the squid to the marinade and let it sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 10 minutes to prevent burning.
