Ingredients

  • Pork ribs - 500 grams
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 60 ml
  • Honey - 30 grams
  • Rice vinegar - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 tablespoon
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chili paste - 1 teaspoon (optional for heat)
  • Green onions (sliced for garnish) - 2 stalks

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, black pepper, and chili paste to make the marinade.
  2. Add the pork ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the ribs from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
  4. Place the ribs on the grill, cooking for about 5-7 minutes per side until they have a nice char and are cooked through, basting occasionally with the reserved marinade.
  5. Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve the ribs garnished with sliced green onions, and enjoy your Shandong BBQ Ribs!
