Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 60 ml
- Honey - 30 grams
- Rice vinegar - 15 ml
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 tablespoon
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chili paste - 1 teaspoon (optional for heat)
- Green onions (sliced for garnish) - 2 stalks
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, black pepper, and chili paste to make the marinade.
- Add the pork ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the ribs from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
- Place the ribs on the grill, cooking for about 5-7 minutes per side until they have a nice char and are cooked through, basting occasionally with the reserved marinade.
- Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the ribs garnished with sliced green onions, and enjoy your Shandong BBQ Ribs!
