- Brussels sprouts - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Sesame oil - 15 ml
- Brown sugar - 10 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Black pepper - to taste
- Water - 100 ml
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper.
- Add the halved Brussels sprouts to the bowl and toss until they are well-coated in the sauce.
- Spread the Brussels sprouts evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, tossing halfway through, until they are golden brown and tender.
- In the last 5 minutes of roasting, add water to the baking sheet to create steam and enhance tenderness.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions, then serve warm.
