Ingredients

  • Shrimp - 300 grams, peeled and deveined
  • Broccoli florets - 100 grams
  • Carrot - 1 medium, sliced thinly
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons (Kosher certified)
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 60 ml
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, and water to create a smooth sauce. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil, then add broccoli, carrot, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet, pour in the prepared sauce, and stir well to combine everything. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
