Ingredients

  • Prawns, peeled and deveined - 200 grams
  • Egg white - 1 large
  • Garlic, minced - 1 clove
  • Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
  • Spring onions, finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Almond flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut oil (for frying) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a food processor, combine the prawns, egg white, garlic, ginger, spring onions, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Blend until a smooth paste forms.
  2. Transfer the prawn mixture to a bowl and mix in the almond flour until well incorporated.
  3. Take a small amount of the prawn mixture and form it into a thin patty, about 1 cm thick. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  4. Spread sesame seeds on a plate and press each prawn patty into the seeds to coat one side evenly.
  5. Heat coconut oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the prawn patties sesame-side down into the pan.
  6. Fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side until cooked through.
  7. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve hot as an appetizer or snack.
