Ingredients

- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Honey or maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons for frying
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, honey (or maple syrup), rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
- Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and let them soak for at least 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the marinated tofu cubes and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
- Pour the remaining marinade over the tofu in the skillet and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and glazes the tofu.
- Serve the sesame glazed tofu hot, garnished with chopped spring onions.
