Ingredients
- Salmon fillets - 2 (about 150g each)
- Sesame seeds - 50g (mixed black and white)
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Honey - 1 teaspoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, honey, and rice vinegar to create the marinade.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, letting them marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- While the salmon is marinating, spread the sesame seeds on a plate.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off, and then press each fillet into the sesame seeds to coat them evenly.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place the sesame-crusted salmon fillets in the skillet.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and the sesame crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the skillet and let rest for a minute before serving.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with a side of steamed vegetables or rice.
