Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 250 grams, diced
  • Broccoli florets - 200 grams
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 3 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the diced chicken, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the chicken is marinating, bring a pot of water to boil and blanch the broccoli florets for about 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  4. Add the honey and water to the skillet with the chicken. Stir well and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet and toss everything together until well coated in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Serve the sesame chicken and broccoli hot, garnished with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
