- Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce (low sodium) - 3 tablespoons
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the diced chicken, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While the chicken is marinating, bring a pot of water to boil and blanch the broccoli florets for about 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
- Add the honey and water to the skillet with the chicken. Stir well and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet and toss everything together until well coated in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Serve the sesame chicken and broccoli hot, garnished with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
