Ingredients

  • Beef flank steak - 250 grams, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the brown sugar and rice vinegar to the skillet, stirring until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is bubbly.
  5. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
