Ingredients

  • Dried seaweed (wakame) - 30 grams
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Chili flakes - to taste (optional)

Steps

  1. Soak the dried seaweed in warm water for about 10 minutes until it expands and softens. Drain and squeeze out excess water.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the soaked seaweed, julienned cucumber, and julienned carrot.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and sugar until well combined.
  4. Pour the dressing over the seaweed and vegetables, and toss gently to coat everything evenly.
  5. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion on top, and add chili flakes if desired.
