Ingredients
- Jasmine rice - 150 grams
- Water - 300 ml
- Scallions - 4 stalks, finely chopped
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
- In a medium pot, combine the rinsed rice and 300 ml of water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
- While the rice is cooking, heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped scallions to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they are fragrant and slightly softened.
- When the rice is done, fluff it with a fork and add it to the skillet with the scallions.
- Pour in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve the scallion rice warm, garnished with additional chopped scallions if desired.
