Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams, chilled
  • Cold water - 30 milliliters
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Milk - 100 milliliters
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and chilled butter. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add cold water gradually and mix until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, chopped green onions, salt, black pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thick. Cut out circles to fit into your tart pans.
  6. Gently press the dough circles into the tart pans, trimming any excess dough from the edges.
  7. Pour the egg mixture into each tart shell, filling them about 3/4 full.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the egg filling is set and the pastry is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
