Ingredients

  • Octopus - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Coconut aminos - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a pot of boiling water, blanch the octopus for about 5 minutes, then remove and let cool. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, ginger, coconut aminos, salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes. Add the octopus pieces and marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil and sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated octopus and sauté for 5-7 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. Add the sliced red bell pepper and chopped green onion to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve immediately.
