Ingredients

  • Fresh clams - 500 grams
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Coconut aminos - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Sea salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse the fresh clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit, then set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the clams to the skillet, followed by the coconut aminos and red chili flakes. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams have opened up, shaking the skillet occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  5. Once the clams are cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the chopped green onions, cilantro, and lemon juice. Season with sea salt to taste.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
